Knowing nothing about your medical condition it's impossible for us to say that it will. We can say, however, that most of the patients in the NJ Medical Marijuana program see sufficient results to continue participating in it.
Anxious patients report feeling less anxiety, chronic pain patients report being in less pain. Almost everyone reprots being able to sleep better.
The potential medicinal properties of marijuana and its components have been the subject of research and heated debate for decades. Proponents will cite dozens of peer-reviewed studies, prominent medical organizations, major government reports, and the use of marijuana as medicine throughout world history as proof positive that it is effective and safe.
Opponents of medical marijuana argue that it is too dangerous to use, lacks FDA-approval, and that various legal drugs make marijuana use unnecessary. They say marijuana is addictive, leads to harder drug use, interferes with fertility, impairs driving ability, and injures the lungs, immune system, and brain. They say that medical marijuana is a front for drug legalization and recreational use.
In our experience, Medical Marijuana from a reputable dispensary is more likely to cause relief than to cause harm. We support our patients' access to this therapy.
It is recommended that you do not travel with medical marijuana. Medical marijuana obtained in New Jersey is for use only in New Jersey. Traveling with marijuana across state lines violates federal law. Some states without medical marijuana laws (or different laws) can arrest patients under possession laws, even if the patient is registered in their home state.
Research on how marijuana interferes with other medications is limited. But, it is generally advised that you do not mix marijuana with the following:
- Any medications that are CNS depressants such as sedatives or tranquilizers
- Alcohol
- Anticoagulants or anti-platelet drugs, herbs and supplements
- Protease inhibitors
- Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
You should discuss potential side effects, risks and benefits with your provider.
We ask our patients to bring with them medical records, if there are any, a valid NJ Driver's License, and proof of NJ residency (bank statement, credit card bill, W-2, etc.)
We are a medical office, not a dispensary, and, thus we do not grow, stock, sell or consume any of the medical marijuana. All we offer are Medical Marijuana evaluations on the basis of which you can go to the dispensary to purchase the Medical Marijuana.

A physician must certify that a patient has an approved debilitating medical condition to participate in the Medicinal Marijuana Program. Approved debilitating medical conditions include:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
Anxiety
Cancer
Chronic Pain
Dysmenorrhea
Glaucoma
Inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease
Intractable skeletal spasticity
Migraine
Multiple sclerosis
Muscular dystrophy
Opioid Use Disorder
Positive status for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Seizure disorder, including epilepsy
Terminal illness with prognosis of less than 12 months to live
Tourette Syndrome
Various insurances may cover the cost of the Medical Marijuana evaluations.
NONE OF THE INSURANCES WILL COVER THE COST OF THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA ITSELF
The costs below are in addition to the costs of the medical evaluation for participation in the NJ Medical Marijuana program. While those costs may be covered under medical insurance or Medicare, the costs below will be the responsibility of the patients.
The fee for patients and caregivers is $100 each. Patients and caregivers who are senior citizens, military veterans, or who qualify for the below listed state and federal assistance programs will be eligible to pay a fee of $20 each. The registration period is valid for 2 years.

Social Security Disability Benefits (SSD)
This is not effective as of yet.
The NJ Department of Health notes that smoking medicinal marijuana falls within the definition of "smoking" as set forth in the Smoke Free Air Act at N.J.S.A. 26:3D-57, and is therefore subject to the provisions of the Smoke Free Air Act.
Patients may not, operate, navigate, or be in control of any vehicle, aircraft, railroad train, or stationary heavy equipment vessel while under the influence of marijuana.
Patients may not smoke medicinal marijuana:
- On a school bus or public form of transportation.
- In a private vehicle unless the vehicle is not in operation.
- On any school grounds, in any correctional facility, at any public park or beach, at any recreation center.
- Any area pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:33-13.
Medical marijuana will be packaged in 1/4 or 1/8 ounce denominations. The patient’s health care practitioner will determine the proper dosage; however, the maximum amount currently allowed by law is 3 ounces in a 30 day period unless the patient is terminal in which case the amount is unlimited.
